POSITION GOAL

To coordinate, instruct, and oversee the work of the air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics, water treatment personnel, and other assigned trades employees. To perform skilled work in the maintenance and repair of air conditioning ranging in size from one (1) to eight hundred (800) tons, commercial refrigeration and freezers, water coolers and control systems in a responsible and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Seven (7) years of recent experience in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning and one of the following:
  • Satisfactory completion of The State of Florida Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic time served as an apprentice); Or
  • Broward County Journeyman Certificate of Competency in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration; Or
  • Must pass test appropriate to certify and demonstrate competency in the job.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and air conditioning circuits.
• Demonstrated knowledge of all phases of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration repair to include proper procedure of the trade.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• This position will include pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Computer skills are required for the position.
