
POSITION GOAL
To provide advanced contract lifecycle management and legal administrative support to the Office of the General Counsel. This position is responsible for managing contract intake; drafting standard contracts using templates approved by the Office of the General Counsel; coordinating legal review and execution with attorneys; maintaining centralized contract records; and ensuring compliance with School Board policies, approval thresholds, and applicable statutes. This position performs complex and diversified duties in a specialized area requiring the application of advanced office procedures and techniques confidently and professionally. Job responsibilities require the use of various procedures and applications related to departmental and/or School Board standard practices, which require the making of minor decisions and the use of judgment. The role is non-attorney and does not provide legal advice or interpretation.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Paralegal, Contract Administrator shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below.
Contract Administration & Lifecycle Management
- Serve as the primary point of intake for contracts, contract amendments, and other related documents or other matters submitted to the Office of the General Counsel for legal review.
- Coordinate and oversee the District’s contract intake and tracking processes, ensuring contracts move efficiently through legal review, approval, execution, and record retention in compliance with School Board policies and internal controls.
- Work with legal support staff and attorneys to ensure efficient contract review and processing.
- Draft, revise, and format standard contracts, addenda, amendments, and contracts using approved templates, contract clauses, and direction from attorneys.
- Track contracts through legal review, approval, and execution, to ensure timely processing and compliance with internal controls.
- Monitor contract expiration dates and notify Legal staff of upcoming amendments, terminations, or required School Board action.
Board & Governance Support
- Coordinate with departments to ensure contracts requiring School Board approval are properly noticed, routed, and documented.
- On behalf of the Office of General Counsel, prepare contract-related agenda materials, summaries, and supporting documentation for School Board consideration as directed.
- Ensure contracts comply with School Board policies, delegation of authority, and approval thresholds prior to execution.
Office of General Counsel Support
- Support attorneys by assembling contract files, tracking revisions, and coordinating signatures and execution logistics.
- Assist with compliance tracking as designated by the General Counsel.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready records consistent with public records requirements.
- Assist with the implementation and use of contract management systems and legal operations tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- An earned bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, public administration or related field from an accredited institution.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent professional experience supporting legal or contract administration functions.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration, legal support, or public-sector contracting.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in a school district, government agency, or public -sector legal office.
- Bilingual skills.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose
Frequently works with District leadership, staff, and vendors, as necessary; interacts with the general public regarding various inquiries.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board
