POSITION GOAL
Coordinate all facets of the Vehicle Maintenance Centralized Parts for timely acquisition of all automotive bus, truck and equipment parts in a reasonable and accurate manner
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supervisor II, Centralized Parts shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below:
- Assemble and organize workflow for daily purchases, deliveries, stocking, pricing, recycling and issuances.
- Analyze date reports, assign inventory levels and reorder points for all automotive parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate accounting and control of all items in the central and satellite parts room.
- Schedule and supervise inventories, as well as established procedures, to ensure proper accountability is fixed for each line item of supply.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a technology-based parts issuance system for bus and vehicle repair.
- Prepare obsolescence schedules.
- Assist in departmental budget preparations.
- Practice safety continuously and ensure that a safe working area exists in the centralized parts facility; ensure that all others under his/her supervision follow the same safety practices.
- Supervise centralized parts personnel in daily work activities including scheduling, assigning work and assessing job completion.
- Ensure Vehicle maintenance is in compliance with all licensed or regulated activities, including but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), District policies, etc.
- Ensure all division/department priorities and projects align to the District’s Strategic Plan.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
- Participate in training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to job responsibilities.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program
- Minimum of seven (7) years within the last twelve (12) years of experience in vehicle maintenance, parts inventory and purchasing, including three (3) years within the seven (7) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in warehousing and control of automotive parts and/or related technical experience.
- Ability to analyze purchasing requirements based on usage; thorough knowledge of vendor's sources; ability to interpret vendor catalogs and assign purchasing requirements for budget purposes by classification of parts, vendor's function and object classifications.
- Must be able to understand School Board policies and procedures.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- An earned associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years within the last ten (10) years of experience in vehicle maintenance, parts inventory and purchasing, including three (3) years within the five years in a supervisory capacity.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose
Frequently contact with department and District administrators, employees, inspectors and vendors to give/exchange information and provide services. Frequent interaction with staff in assigned area to monitor work performed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
