POSITION GOAL

To assist the principal in providing vision and leadership to develop, administer and monitor high-quality educational programs that optimize the human and material resources, including time and space, available for a successful and safe school program for students, staff, and community.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An earned master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Technical College Assistant Director may substitute Advanced Vocational Certificate.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of public school instructional experience or district administrative experience (with at least two [2] years of public school instructional experience).
  • Four (4) years of experience at the level at which the position exists is preferred, as outlined in School Board Policy 4002.14.
  • Assistant Principals – Hold or be eligible for Florida Certification in Educational Leadership, Administration, or Administration & Supervision. Completion of Leadership Experiences and Administrative Development (LEAD) or a comparable program is a mandatory requirement for eligibility to become an assistant principal.
