POSITION GOAL
To assist in the development and implementation of the Employee Assistance Program with an emphasis on providing direct services to employees. To perform assignments that are varied and difficult in character under the supervision of the Employee Assistance Program Administrator.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- 
The Employee Assistant Program Administrator shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Employee Assistance Program for employees of the Broward County School District.
- Work directly with district, school site and area staff, committees, union officials, groups and individuals in explaining, interpreting and implementing the assistance program.
- Assist administrators in assessing needs for referral assistance.
- Provide crisis intervention, consultation, referrals, follow-up and supportive counseling to employees.
- Maintain consultation services with physicians, mental health professionals, agencies, and supervisory staff and coordinate treatment/assistance services.
- Maintain client records.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee participation in the Employee Assistance Program in a manner permitted by law.
- Assist in the development and production of informational materials.
- Assist in the development and presentation of training programs for administrators, supervisors and managers in coordination with the Human Resource Development Department.
- Assist in the development and implementation of program evaluation plans in coordination with the Department of Program Evaluation.
- Assist with the coordination and integration of Employee Assistance Program activities with wellness and employee fitness programming.
- Act as the Employee Assistance Program Administrator when the Administrator is absent.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
- Participate, successfully, in the training programs offered to increase the individual's skill and proficiency related to the assignments.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Employee Assistance Program Administrator.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a four-year accredited college or university with a major in social work, psychology, or related field.
- Four (4) years of job-related experience in social work or a similar occupation, including at least one (1) year experience primarily involving the treatment of substance abusers.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social work, psychology or related field.
- Three (3) years of job-related experience in social work or a similar occupation, including at least one (1) year experience primarily involving the treatment of substance abusers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
