IT TRAINING AND ADOPTION SPECIALIST

POSITION GOAL
To create, update, and maintain curriculum and training for technology solutions used within the District. Monitor the adoption of technology solutions and create and implement plans to improve adoption.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Training and Adoption Specialist shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate effective curriculum and instructional materials for training. Utilize the Technology Adoption Framework to monitor and improve the adoption of technology solutions.
- Provide guidance for all levels and types of training needed by role; identify training resources, direct the scheduling, execution, and evaluation of training exercises.
- Maintain proficiency in leveraging technology solutions to increase productivity and effectiveness.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training by monitoring stakeholder feedback and performance, using data collection and analysis systems along with functional users of the process being trained.
- Remain abreast of developing training trends and techniques.
- Employ a variety of instructional methods to educate and inform staff of new technology solutions.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of actions necessary to ensure effective integration of training resources, requirements, concepts, and standards.
- Participate in specialized training as provided by IT Leadership.
- Work with vendors should changes to software be needed to update the trainings and curriculum.
- Work with Professional Development to ensure all relevant courses are in Canvas or Learning Across Broward (LAB) to track user completions.
- Comply with administrative rules, directives, policies, procedures, regulations, and statutes governing the distribution of confidential information.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
- Participate in the training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years, within the last five (5) years of experience, as an instructor or trainer.
- Prior experience with the implementation and adoption of technology solutions.
- Prior experience developing multimedia presentations such as PowerPoint, online/web courses, and training videos.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bilingual skills.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose
Frequently works with District and school-based administrators along with those within the IT Division.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
